SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

For a female senior swimmer attending Durango High School, Big Picture High School or Animas High School, and swimming for Durango High School Swim Team.
 

Application Cycle: January 11, 2024 – March 11, 2024
Deadline to Submit: March 11, 2024 @ 5PM MST
Award Amount: $1,000 to student’s choice school
Selection: Recipients will be selected by the DEF Scholarship Committee, in conjunction with the Brinton Family

ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

Student should exemplify:

-A commitment to the Durango High School Swim Team, both in duration and in attitude
-Leadership qualities
-Minimum 3.0 GPA
-Moral character
-Financial need

INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
            1) A COMPLETE APPLICATION

            2) Current transcript and senior year mid-term grades. Please note: a complete                   senior transcript showing sustained GPA may be required before award is                              remitted to the student’s choice college
            3) TWO Letters of Recommendation from the following:

-Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from the following: 

-LOR #1: From an unrelated person speaking to your qualities outlined in “Eligibility and Requirements”
-LOR #2: Applicant’s Swim Coach

4) #1 College and Career Essay: What are your education and career goals? What makes you passionate about this future path? What have you done, so far, to pursue these future goals? What will you be doing 1 and 5 years after college graduation? (600 words maximum) 

#5 Brinton Family Girls' Swimming Scholarship Essay: How has swimming helped you grow in character and leadership?  What has your commitment been to swimming and how have you given back to the sport? (500 words maximum)
